Horizons Charity Golf Event 2026

On May 4, Horizons at CT State Norwalk welcomed more than 100 golfers, tennis players, sponsors, donors, and supporters to Shorehaven Golf Club for the 5th Annual Charity Golf Event. Set against the beautiful waterfront backdrop of a perfect May day in Rowayton, the event brought our community together in support of the 150+ students and families served by Horizons.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, attendees, and donors, the event raised $150,000 to support Horizons at CT State Norwalk's mission to provide life-changing opportunities for local students and families.

Guests enjoyed a full day of activities, including a round of golf, tennis point play, on-course contests, a cocktail hour, and an evening reception and live auction. Participants competed in more than six contests throughout the day for a variety of prizes and gifts, adding excitement and fun to an already memorable event.

We are deeply grateful to our Platinum Sponsors, Hildene Capital Management and Houlihan Lokey, for their leadership and support. Special thanks as well to The Wayland Wealth Management Group at Merrill Lynch for sponsoring lunch, Shift4 for sponsoring the golf carts, BMW of Darien for the welcome gift, Jennifer Leahy at Compass for the halfway house refreshments, and Land Rover Fairfield for sponsoring the cocktail hour. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the many additional sponsors whose meaningful contributions helped make the day such a success.

A special thank you goes to our Event Co-Chairs, Emelyn Northway and Maria Hedus, along with our dedicated committee members, board members, volunteers, and the entire Shorehaven Golf Club team for their hard work, hospitality, incredible setting, custom cocktails, amazing food, and seamless execution throughout the day.

The evening reception featured a heartfelt speech from Lucas, a junior in the Horizons program, who shared what Horizons has meant to him and his family. His remarks were a powerful reminder of the program's impact on students and the importance of creating opportunities for children in our community.

We were also honored to have “The Good News Guy” Keith Kountz serve as emcee for the evening, leading an energetic live auction and paddle raise that helped drive additional support for Horizons students and families.

Horizons at CT State Norwalk helps close the opportunity gap for local students through high-quality academics, enrichment, and social-emotional support designed to inspire a lifelong love of learning. Programs like Horizons give students the confidence, resources, and encouragement to grow both inside and outside the classroom, while creating meaningful connections among students, families, teachers, and the broader Norwalk community. Events like this help make those opportunities possible for the children and families Horizons serves each year.

Thank you for believing in the power of Horizons and for helping us continue to make a difference in the lives of Norwalk children and families.
